. Title: Rat in Blue
. Material: Acrylic, Medium, Wire on Canvas
. Size: about 5 x 7 inches
. Made by Yeojin Jung (Artist signature on the front)
I made this pretty rat painting while i'm thinking of my good friend Malgosia.
She is a wonderful human being who is animal lover, and also working for animal welfare.
One day, she asked me to make art related to animals...especially rat.
Wait...What? Rat?
That is the last animal I want to make as an art.
I know there's many people who's having rat as a pet,
and I also raised two hamsters when I was little.
(Hamsters and my relationship ended up very sadly....by the way)
So I know there's some cute rats....but...
Malgosia went to vet school, so the image of rat which pop in mind was experimental rats...
White or grey dirty hair with scary red eyes and...probably huge tumor inside.
In addition, at that point, I was watching the tv show "House M.D"
Anyway, this is the story how I started this painting.
I researched lots of pretty rat pictures while i'm painting, but still...not sure I do like rats.
But, I love this painting though!
I used heavy gel medium for texture.
I like that cloud shape tail.
Long tail is the point of this painting I think!
Made mustache with wire,
Paint again and again for color depth.
Animals together.
Paint, paint, paint..and done!
Yes, lavender pink color for background wasn't my intension!
There are still some hints, but it covered by my favorite blue color.
Here are some detail shots.
Look at this part.
This is what exactly I intended.
Having much more flavor than just one flat color layer.
Shiny hairs.
CAD 70$ + shipping (without frame)
